Kaylin Gets Big Girl Earrings

I thought after her being so ill over the weekend and looking shocking yesterday with her horrid eye infection, I'd take KK to get her ears pierced. she is always asking about it when I change my earrings or sees her sister's earrings.

Off we went to Dischem and she sat so still in the chair while they alcohol swabbed her ears, used a marker on her ears for where the earrings would go. She sat on my lap and didn't budge. She was so brave and didn't flinch. Not one tear.

She just said "Ears burnie" on our way to buy some surgical spirits to keep her ears clean.

She's so chuffed.

Here's a message for Megan who certainly has NOT forgotten about you and misses you lots.

Family is Full of Flu

Kaylin was very sick yesterday with running nose, fever and coughing. By mid morning her eyes were swollen and red. Her cold had somehow moved to her eyes and they were seriously infected. By the evening, her eyes were starting to puss and this morning when she got up, her eyes were crusted shut from all the gunk.

Apart from me feeling under the weather, Megan having a cold and Riaan recovering from the flu and Kaylin looking like she'd been in the WWF ring, it was a illness circus.

So I trotted everyone over to the doctor this morning and we all have flu and URTI. Doc Frik has put all of us on a five day course of anti-biotics and lots of muti.

Worse thing is with the kids at home I don't get any bed rest. They're running around like maniacs so I can't lay down. The anti-biotics are making me drowsy and light-headed...och I hate being ill. Mum's just don't get the chance to rest and recover from this dreaded flu. We are meant to just keep going no matter what and care for everyone else.
