What do you see?
This made me think about my post yesterday about feeling terribly ugly and old. Am I only looking for the fact that I'm heading towards forty rather rapidly and that when you're forty you're middle-aged and meant to look and feel old and ugly and get sick?
I'm not sure if this theory is completely convincing though. However, it has given me food for thought for the day.
Then I had some more advice this morning (from my boss, nog al) she said :
- Make sure you get your daily dose of fruit and veggies
- Take your vitamins and bump up your vitamin C so you don't get sick
- Get plenty of exercise because exercise builds the immune system
- Walk for at least an hour every day
- Go for a swim
- Take the stairs instead of the lift
- Wash your hands often or buy a tube of hand sanitizer
- Get lots of fresh air - open your windows
- Try to eliminate stress
- Get lots of sleep and rest
or
Take the doctor's approach...
Now think carefully about this...
When you go for a shot, what does the doc do first? They rub your arm with alcohol...
Why ??? Because Alcohol KILLS GERMS..
So...... I will walk to the bottle store (exercise), I will put lemon in my Savannah (fruit), Celery in my Bloody Mary (veggies), Drink it outdoors on the patio (fresh air), Tell jokes, laugh with friends (eliminate stress), Then pass out (rest)
The way I see it...
If you keep your alcohol levels up flu germs and old age can't get you!
Then I remember one of my gran's old sayings: 'A shot in the glass is better than one in the arse!'
Gran was a genius!
