Shopping Spree and Megan Gets Gold!

My Wonderful Hubby surprised all his gals with a shopping spree over the weekend.  We spent most of the morning at the shops and the girls were so excited to get new goodies.  He gave them each a budget to stick to and off they went!  By the time the girls got what they wanted and needed, I really didn't know what to get.

Its not like I'm used to spending money on myself for stuff that I don't really need.  I guess that's  how mums think.  We always put everyone else first.

R then suggested I get another iPod because the one I have has sellotape holding it together and is VERY temperamental.  Its not like it doesn't work so its not something I thought of.

Anyhoo, long story short, I got a brand spanking new twinkly 8G iPod and Megan and Kaylin each got a new toys and some shoes and clothes.

I ♥ Shopping!

Megan took part recently in the Alberton Eistedfodd and received a Gold for her Poetry Recital.

Well done, Megz.

2011 Eistedfodd Poetry Reading - I'm Down in the Dumps

My 8 year old Megan has been selected to read a poem in the 2011 Eistedfodd. We've been learning the poem over the last week and during this time, Kaylin my 5 year old has learned the entire poem too.

Wish Megan Luck!

I'm down in the dumps
Because I've got mumps
I hope it goes soon
Its like a balloon
It hurts when I yawn
And it hurts when I chew
and sometimes I wish that they'd
change me for new

I can't go to school
Coz my cheeks are so fat
I look like a hamster
I giggle at THAT
I pull funny faces
to help pass the time
I laid down and thought
Then I made up this rhyme

Eisteddfod

Megan has her Eisteddfod on Thursday morning at the Alberton Library
and has learnt the following poem by heart:

A Giant's Cake
Each year I have a birthday
When People buy me toys
And Mother gives a party
To lots of girls and boys
I have a cake with candles
And icing pink and white
With all my candles alight
It makes a lovely sight
Each year the cake grows larger
Another light to take
So, if I grow much older
I'll need a giant's cake!

Wish her luck for another Gold this year!
