A Loose Tooth Aboot The Hoos
Megan finally has a loose tooth and she's so excited to get back to school and share the news with her friends and teachers. I noticed yesterday it was a bit wobbly when she cheekily stuck her tongue out at me.
She's is now counting the sleepies to get back to school and tell them all that she will be minus a tooth very soon.
We've discussed the Tooth Fairy with her and she adament she doesn't want to leave her tooth in her stinky shoes. She rather wants to put her under her pillow but I don't want The Tooth Fairy to waken Megan when she comes to collect her tooth and swap it for some good hard cash bukaroonies.
Any advice?

It Got Me Thinkin'
Yes, I do ponder from time to time...did you smell something burning?
I survived 4 hours at the shopping mall this morning with both girls in tow! No tantrums, no crying, hell, we even all sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star together with our volume buttons on loud in the middle of Woolies...I was in one of those "don't give a shite" moods and yes, we did get some funny looks and a couple of laffs. We actually had fun...and then
...ONE incident.
Megan accidentally pulled Kaylin out the trolley and KK topppled over from a standing position in the trolley and crash landed on her head, again! She has this wonderful tendency to land on her noggin' when she falls. I have no idea how she gets it right. Perhaps its all that grey matter in her head that weighs so much. Well, its either that theory or the Jam-on-Toast theory.
You know the one where you drop your just-about-to-munch-freshly-made piece of toast but it slips out your hand and on to the floor and the side with the jam ALWAYS lands face down and you land up either throwing the toast away and making another or if you're me (a complete pleb) you'll try to blow the fluff and add more jam to disguise the gritty bits. Kidding! I also make a new piece... well...moving along and getting back the subject.
I think they call it Murphy's law...and I'm not talking about Eddie Murphy (who's pretty HAWT by the way)
Anyhoo...you know Good Old Murphy: If anything will go wrong, It will!
Murphy has followed me around since infancy and I think its time to get rid of the bastard. Espeically it being a New Year and all. I want to dodge and loose him for good.
I want to be one of those women who don't trip when wearing 4 inch heels. I want to be one of those women who look good when they get out of bed and never get chorbs. I want one of those women who NEVER get sweat patches under their armpits (even at the gym). I want to be one of those women whose hair always look like you've just walked out of The Jonathan Salon and can be in the sun without getting one thousand freckles. I want to be one of those women who never stumbles on her words and always thinks of the right thing to say the right time (instead of puting my foot in it). Okay you get the picture, right?
Hell, I want to be one of those women who have Luck on their side demmit!
FFS what do I have to do? Carry a frikken Lepricorn around in my pokeet? Lob off a pinkie toe? Challenge Batista to a ring match? I will do it!
Murphy has always been a few paces behind me or is it in front of me? How do I begin to create the perfect Murphy murder?
Here's a couple of things I've been thinkin'
- Become more optimistic
- Become more positive
I thought I was these things but I suppose not because he's still in the shaddows.
Here's the thing. I work hard, I take risks (hey! I often take a different route to work just because I need a change of scenery). But I need to start BELIEVING good things will happen to me instead of expecting the worst to happen.
Any ideas on how I do this?
Needless to say Kaylin is fine.

3 Days to Go

So... we have 3 more days at home before Megan and Kaylin head back to pre-school and I go back to work. I've enjoyed the time at home but I'm ready to go back to work.
I've come to the conclusion AGAIN this year that I could NEVER be a SAHM (Stay At Home Mum). I would drive myself to drink and drugs and possibly murder both of my children .
I need a break from them.
Its been 24/7 since 12 December (thats 3½ weeks) and they are so bored and fed up with me and each other. They constantly bicker with each other and it drives me insane!!!
They were both asking to go back to school last week already. I only wish school was open otherwise I would've endulged them and perhaps I could've had a week at home in peace and quiet, instead of doing washing, dishes, clearing up toys, wiping noses and bums, stopping them from tearing each others' eyes out and wrecking my place I call home.
Oh! and on top of all that, my domestic worker has been away since then too so I have had to do all of this on my own...hey! don't say I'm spoiled. I'm used to my dear Pinkie. Come home Pinkie - All's forgiven.
I'll give you anything you want right now. You can even take my kids home for a few weeks....*evil chuckle*

Happy New Year!

Happy 2009!
New Year was very quiet this year. We went to Mandy's place.
The youngsters played computer games in the office, I swam with the girls, the ladies first watched Kaylin playing with her tea set and then I realised that we should do something to either keep us awake or keep us entertained.
We hauled out the board game 30 seconds and had a real good giggle. The men swam and then go the poker table out. We stayed up until midnight (it was a stretch) and toasted everyone with champagne at midnight.
(Norman I won't forget your Batman cape, Liz your flapping fried chicken wings and "making it Russian". Ellen you made me giggle at your four legged stripey cat and when I totally lost it Mandy making fun of my snorting when I laughed....I hope Irene and Natasha enjoyed it too = they seemed to take it very seriously...)
Here's some pix:
