Happy 11th Birthday, Megan

It's my daughter, Megan's birthday today.

A while ago, I asked her what she wanted to do for her birthday this year as she's getting a bit too old for a sugar-high party-at-the-house with a bouncy castle and water slide.  I gave her a few options.  Either, a big party with all her friends, a small intimate dinner with a couple of her friends, or to go skydiving.

Guess which one she chose?

You guessed it, we're going skydiving.

She is soopa excited and so am I.  Actually, all of us are going (except Kaylin) extreme sports is definitely not her thing.  

Meg's had a fat lip ever since I went skydiving with my BFF last year for her 50th birthday.  Megan cried when I got on the plane to go, because she wanted to go with me.  At the time, I couldn't afford to pay for both of us to do it.  Now almost a year later, I get to gift her one of her dreams.  I couldn't be more stoked for her.

What better birthday gift than an experience she'll NEVER forget, right?

Birthday Party *WARNING* lots of Pix

Yesterday was the girls' combined birthday party.

We celebrated Meg's 9th birthday and Kaylin's 6th birthday. However, Kaylin's birthday is only next month, but we thought we'd haved a combined party and have everyone over on the same day.

Invitations went out, water slide was ordered, house was tidied, cakes were baked and snacks were homemade. Here's some of the photos from the fun day we had.


Since we were having the entire party outside and the kids activities were all water-related, we were praying for the rain to stay away. Luckily, our prayers were answered and it only rained that evening but not only did it rain, but we had an electrical storm which took out another fucking modem! 

Grrrrr, I'm on the 3G card at the mo so that I can get this post out and schedule something for tomorrow.

Thanx for being so patient this week with all my lazy-arsed posts.  It really was the week from hell with us all getting gastro, school term starting, back to work and organising this party...

Megan got over R800 in cash!  We went shopping today so she could buy two new XBOX games.  She's dead chuffed.  An all-round brilliant birthday bash with family and friends.
