Progress on The Dukan Diet

It has been 7 days since I've started my new eating programme and already I have lost 2.8kg (6.2 pounds)

I started the first three days on a liquid fruit and veggie smoothie diet and on Wednesday I started Dr Pierre Dukan's Dukan Diet.

I must say, I feel great, I don't feel hungry and I'm not moody. Usually, by now, I get quite cranky on a diet because I don't get my favourite foods - chocolate and carbs but I have been feeling energetic and positive. I've also been to gym running on the treadmill every other day and doing loads of spring cleaning at home, which also burns up the calories.

Here is my recipe for the Dukan Diet Oat Bran Breakfast Galette

1 egg
1½ tablespoons oat bran
1½ tablespoons fat free cream cheese
1 teaspoon sweetner
few drops of vanilla

Dukan Oat Bran Galette Ingredients

Raw Dukan Oat Bran Galette

Ready to eat Dukan Diet Oat Bran Galette with Chunky Fat-Free Cottage Cheese and 3 slices of lean chargrilled chicken

The Oat Bran Galette is pretty tasty and on the Dukan Diet, you can have one a day and breakfast is the perfect time for me to eat this, as this is generally when I eat my bread.  So, I don't feel like I'm missing out - not yet.

You can make your galette sweet or savoury but seeing as most of The Attack Phase (Phase 1) of the diet is mostly 70 different proteins (meats), then I make my galette sweet.  I just need to find a decent sugar-free syrup to go with it. Scrummy!

Going strong but this morning I wanted to cheat and put sugar in my tea - I didn't!  Wish me luck for the next phase - Phase 2. The Cruise Phase - and the long haul towards loosing another 10 - 15kg.

Can you say sugar and fat free?  It's not easy but giving up smoking wasn't easy either.  I'm stickin with it.....

I'm writing a Diet Book. It's called "Put That Down, Fatty!"

Happy New Year, Plonkers!

Today is a brand new year and that means it is the day that my new eating plan starts and hopefully my weight loss gets a fucking serious kick in the arse.

My flabby arse needs a serious full body overhaul.  I want to feel comfortable in my clothes, I want to go into those pretty trinket shops without worrying that my wide-arse hips are going to knock all the expensive nicknaks downs.  I really don't want to look like a pale pork sausage anymore.

Did you know?
A person can survive by sucking the juice from a wet mitten.

Anyhoover, I am starting with a liquid diet of raw fruits and veggies for 5 days and then on to the Attack Phase of the Dukan Diet. I'm all organised and keen to get going with this new eating plan.  My mind has been ready for this for 3 weeks or so.  I'd say wish me luck but I don't need luck only hard work from my side and willpower to stick this one through.  My mind is in the right place and ready to see the kilos drop off on my newly purchased twinkling trendy bathroom scale.

I went shopping yesterday for fruits and veggies and came back with a new digital scale and The Dukan Diet Life Plan book.

Don't worry about this fat.  I'll fuck off soon enough.  With any luck, if I loose 2kg a week, you'll be completely rid of me in aboot 9 months.

Liquid Diet Starts Today

Going to try to do this for at least 5 days.  I'm gonna try 7 days though as I have put on 6kg since I've stopped smoking.

  1. Decide on how long you would like your diet to last. Some people do a liquid diet 1 day per week. Beginners often set their goal between 3 to 7 days.
  2. Make sure the time span you choose for your liquid diet does not conflict with impending stressful situations. During a liquid diet, one should be in a relative state of rest.
  3. Shop for your liquid diet supplies. You will need plenty of fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, herbal teas, and water. While on this diet, food quality matters very much. Since your nutrition intake will be limited, it is important that what you do put in your body has the most nutrition possible and little or no chemicals. For this reason, I suggest you consume only organic products.
  4. Water should be your main liquid on this diet, 8 glasses at least. You should consume no more than 3 glasses of freshly juiced fruits and/or vegetables in one day. Try to consume more vegetable juice and broth than fruit juice. Vegetables contain more digestive enzymes and will help you along your diet better. Sip herbal teas all day, no limit. Do not use any type of sweetener.
  5. Fill your thermos type containers with juice or broth when you know you will be out. Always take juice or broth with you to avoid emergency situations. Set yourself up for success.
  6. Strenuous exercise is NOT part of a liquid diet. It is a good idea to take long walks at a regular pace, but do not attempt to break a sweat. The body should be at rest during this type of diet.
  7. At the end of your liquid diet, it will be important for you to pace yourself back on to solid foods slowly and over the course of a few days. Begin with soups and cooked vegetables. Gradually add whole grains and fruit. Heavy foods that are difficult to digest, like meats and dairy (cheeses) should come last, if at all.
