Can't Wait for 10 June

Mr Jack White III made vinyl history lately but cutting the World Fastest Record on Record Day at Thirdman Records a few days ago.  Cutting his single in just less than 4 hours.

His new album "Lazaretto" is due to be released on 10 June and we've already heard two tracks from the record.

I can't wait for the rest.

Jack White - Lazaretto

Jack decided that April 1st was a perfect day to release a sneak-peak song from his new album "Lazaretto".  I can't tell you how excited I am that his album will be released by Third Man Records, just in time for my birthday in June.

Whooooohoooo!

Monday Music Moves Me

Jack White has been spending time in court dealing with his family drama lately, but he took a trip out to Mexico City last week to make a surprise appearance at the Fermatta Music Academy’s 20th anniversary celebration. White was named an honorary dean at the event.
“The sense of being a musician is making art, and I do not care whether it is solo or as part of a collective project,” White told the crowd of over 150 students and reporters. “At all times, I seek to express myself, and different circumstances of my life could also become multiple creative and stylistic channels.”
In addition to receiving the title of honorary dean, White was also presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony, where he was introduced by singer-songwriter Elan.

This is the first time the academy has awarded the title to a musician.

This week's Monday Music Moves Me theme over at Xmas Dolly is 70's music.

Here are some 70's classics

My Favourite Shade of White is Jack

It's Day Six of Paula's July Blog Challenge and today's question is  :

If you could spend 15 minutes with a celebrity who would it be and why?

I'm so predictable with this one.

I would want to spend 15 minutes with Jack White, my favourite musician and founder Thirdman Records in Nashville.

I became obsessed with this man when I stumbled across his music on You Tube.  Ball and Biscuit by The White Stripes is still my favourite Jack White Song.

I fell in love with his music and started researching everything about him.  What bands he had been a part of :  The White Stripes, The Upholsterers, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather and most recently the release of his solo album, Blunderbuss.  Where he came from, where he lived, who he married, how many children does he have...

Jack is an incredibly talented and authentically organic musician.  He loves the Delta Blues and plays piano, guitar and drums and has been successful at all three.

We'd talk for hours about music and the blues and Led Zeppelin and where the idea from Thirdman Records came from.

Take a Tour of Jack White's Third Man Records

Most of you lovely Plonkers know that I am a HUGE Jack White fan.  The understatement of the decade actually because I'm obsessed.

I scour the interwebs daily for pictures, videos and any information I can get on him in The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather.  His solo career has been pretty awesome too;  playing on tour with both his all-female band - The Peacocks and his all-male band - The Buzzards and his ridiculously brilliant record company and label Third Man Records.

I share all my links about him on Twitter, I follow fellow fans on Instagram and have him on my Google Alerts so I don't miss a snippet of information about him and what he's up to.

Just wish I could get my hands on some of his merchandise without having to pay the exorbitant postage fees to South Africa.

Oh I know, I get a lot of flack for being a 40 year old with a major crush on a rock star, guitar genius, musician and businessman.
