Jaggie Jellies and Jack White

We're almost half way through the A to Z Blog Challenge and today's letter is the letter J.

Back in the wondrous eighties, the fashions were Fugly and Crazy. These Jelly Shoes were certainly no exception.  They came in any colour you wanted and because they were super cheap, you could afford to match your shoes to any colour outfit.

There were a few things about these shoes that made them horrid.   They made your feet incredibly sweaty and stinky!  They also pinched your feet until you got blisters and came in various styles, sometimes with glitter.  You also got an awful tan from the lattice pattern...so gross.  You could also get matching bags and belts!

Today's music feature is Jack White, back when he was half of The White Stripes with drummer and ex-wife, Meg White. My favourite band and my favourite artist...

In this track and video, Jack records on his couch while Meg sleeps.  Its a great melody and a sweet song.

Monday Music Jingles

Well, our Christmas decorations and lights are up and they look great!  We even have a flashing Rudolf.  And by that I mean our Rudolf has flashing lights...not...nevermind.

For the entire month of December, Xmas Dolly's Monday Music Moves Me theme is Christmas Songs, of course, but as usual I'm breaking the rules, because #1, thats how I roll and #2, I want to showcase someone.

His name is Dave Cad, he's been a YouTube vlogger for a good few years and I've been following him for as long as I can remember.  Way back before he was a famous and very popular YouTuber.  He's an incredibly talented bloke, with many hidden talents and a brilliant sense of humour.  He constantly under-estimates himself and could use another couple of thousand followers.  Go check him oot, oh yeah, Dave's on Twitter too.

Some sweet sounds from the boys from Libera

Time for some Christmas Swag?

And of course some Christmassy Jack and Meg White

My Favourite Treadmill Song

A very cool blues song that I can't get outta my head

Everyone should have at least ONE Led Zepp song on their playlist.

My Favourite Shade of White is Jack

It's Day Six of Paula's July Blog Challenge and today's question is  :

If you could spend 15 minutes with a celebrity who would it be and why?

I'm so predictable with this one.

I would want to spend 15 minutes with Jack White, my favourite musician and founder Thirdman Records in Nashville.

I became obsessed with this man when I stumbled across his music on You Tube.  Ball and Biscuit by The White Stripes is still my favourite Jack White Song.

I fell in love with his music and started researching everything about him.  What bands he had been a part of :  The White Stripes, The Upholsterers, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather and most recently the release of his solo album, Blunderbuss.  Where he came from, where he lived, who he married, how many children does he have...

Jack is an incredibly talented and authentically organic musician.  He loves the Delta Blues and plays piano, guitar and drums and has been successful at all three.

We'd talk for hours about music and the blues and Led Zeppelin and where the idea from Thirdman Records came from.

Take a Tour of Jack White's Third Man Records

Most of you lovely Plonkers know that I am a HUGE Jack White fan.  The understatement of the decade actually because I'm obsessed.

I scour the interwebs daily for pictures, videos and any information I can get on him in The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather.  His solo career has been pretty awesome too;  playing on tour with both his all-female band - The Peacocks and his all-male band - The Buzzards and his ridiculously brilliant record company and label Third Man Records.

I share all my links about him on Twitter, I follow fellow fans on Instagram and have him on my Google Alerts so I don't miss a snippet of information about him and what he's up to.

Just wish I could get my hands on some of his merchandise without having to pay the exorbitant postage fees to South Africa.

Oh I know, I get a lot of flack for being a 40 year old with a major crush on a rock star, guitar genius, musician and businessman.

Monday Music Moves Me Males

Photobucket

Xmas Dolly's theme this week is Your Favourite Male Artists.

Well, anyone who reads my bloggy regularly knows I'm a MASSIVE Jack White fan.  And guest what?  He's got a brand spanking new solo album coming out next month!  Can you say WhooooooofuckingHooooooo?

Jack is a genius guitar player, drummer, singer, song-writer, rock blues mad-man and he ain't too bad on the eyes either.  He's unique and original and has made the most awesome music with The White Stripes, Racounters, The Dead Weather and is fabulous in the mini-movie It Might Get Loud with Jimmy Page and David Evans aka The Edge from U2.

The gorgeous Paul Hewson aka Bono (my teenage heart throb) and 25 year ons and he's still hot.

Jim Morrisson - Sex on Legs

Lenny Kravitz.  He's also another hotty but extremely talented.

Michael Bublé's smooth sensual voice would make any woman smile.

I could only fit in a few but how could I forget my incredibly talented nephew.
