55 Friday

Mr KnowItAll and a few other bloggers play this writing game on Fridays, called 55 Fiction Fridays, or 55 Fridays.

The idea is to write a complete story in only 55 words.   Join us!

another day
lacking sunshine
winter turns up
gracing us
with cool approach
swallowing the fever
of summer

a nip in the air
chilly winds blow
ruffling hair
turning collars up
crossing arms
walking fast

hibernation begins
huddled under cover
hide away
lie dormant
until the home-coming
of the searing fever
creating a glow and blush

What a lovely idea! Depending on the workload today, I may join in!

It is getting freezing very quickly, makes it difficult to get up in the morning :)

Tine for the indoor woolly socks and hat. Gone for a poem this week based on the Etheree form created about twenty years ago by an Arkansas poet named Etheree Taylor Armstrong It normally consists of ten lines of unmetered and unrhymed verse, the first line having one syllable, each succeeding line adding a syllable. I added an extra row for the word count and the punch line. See what I mean here.

"...a few other bloggers "do" the "55"...? Yep about 100 now.

And Gillian, you sure have the right idea--telling us something about where you live, i.e., winter iss icumen inn....

When I read about those winds, I shook, "feeling" the chill go right through my body. Ah! The memory is such.

Good "55". Thanks!

New England had snow this week, followed by unseasonably warm weather two days later. As Mark Twain (I think) said, if you don't like the weather, wait a minute. Nicely done.
