And The Winner Is...

Sorry if I'm a day late in announcing the winner
(I've had a busy weekend, I'm already dreaming of my goose-down pillow).

And The Winner Is Dr. Monkey Von Monkerstein.

Email me and I'll send you a wee something.

There was a reason his nickname was 'Hand Solo.'

A Football Tournament and a Booze Cruise

We have had an incredibly busy weekend.

Megan played her first Football Tournament of the season and it was held a Florida Albion Football Club in Roodepoort from 8:30am until 2:30 in the afternoon.  It was blazing hot in the summer sun and a VERY long day.  There was lots of cheering from the side of the pitch from the parents and supporters and plenty encouragement from their coach.

It was an awesome tournament and the Alberton Football Club Under 9 Premier Team, played wonderfully.  For their first time playing as a team, they really did well and got thruogh to the semi-finals.  The semi-finals unfortunately proved too tough for them and they were so disappointed.  We tried so hard to lift their wee broken spirits but only them being presenting with their medals put the smiles back on their faces.

After the Football Tournament, we arranged for the girls to sleep  over at my Sister in Law's house while we went to a colleague's 50th birthday party on a Booze Cruise down the Vaal River.

What a party.  It was a Phantom of the Opera theme and we all got pretty masks and capes on arrival.  R and I had such a ball.  We completel let our hair down and danced all night.  It was awesome.

Friday Follower Mr Cool and a Shoegasm

Introducting Mr Cool aka Tom Tomoser.

By day is a Secrity Guard and by night he is serenading all the ladies in Omaha karaoke bars making them swoon with his soopa smooth voice and silvery locks. Tom is so smooth he slides up hill!

Tom dismissed the idea of being signed by a major label and instead opened his own indie label Lone Eagle Records in 1997. The first release from Lone Eagle was “Cool Smooth & Sassy” spotlighting a tenor sax session player named Joe Genovesi. Tom put 14 of his ballads on “Cool.”

A renaissance man, and a true desire to achieve the highest artistic quality inspired him to begin his musical career by laying a foundation to grow from.  His musical knowledge came the old fashioned way - he  studied.

It was clear to him from the beginning that he would need to be competent in at least 4 areas of the music business to build a rewarding and profitable career or business. The first order of business was to learn how to write music, so he studied music theory with a college professor that was also an accomplished pianist, and woodwind artist playing with two symphony orchestras and a jazz ensemble.

Tom is a true gentleman whose songs and voice reflect the lost art of chivalry.  His blog is full of interesting stuff and always takes part in Monday Music Moves Me bloghop.

Go give him a visit and send Tom some hugs and kisses and check him out on YouTube.

  • You can’t stop thinking about the strategic scheduling of posts.
  • You have a backlog of over 50 draft posts with little to nothing written.

  • You can crush peanuts with your butt cheeks because they’ve become rock hard and calloused due to sitting too much.
  • You can start your own mini-bookstore thanks to all the books that are sent your way by PR folks who want you to highlight their authors.
  • You join the minimalist movement because that’s what’s trending at the moment… also because you have too many books.
  • You then start the maximalist movement because you realise it’s no longer cool to be a minimalist since everybody is doing it.
  • You can’t get a mortgage because of the unpredictability of your blogging income, so you buy an RV instead and meet your followers.
  • You tweet your whereabouts on FourSquare and hoping other blogging addicts are around so you can do a tweet-up at Comic Con.
  • You go to your optometrist and she pulls out the biggest “E, D, F, G” vision card and all you see are hopefully post comments.
  • You have a Tweet Meme button and a Share Everything plug-in just in case people can’t see the Tweet Meme button.
  • You sometimes have nightmares of accidentally hitting the publish button instead of the save button.
  • Your dreams all full of your blogpost going viral.
  • You refer to yourself as your Blog name rather than your real name.

Impractical Jokers

I love this show.

Impractical Jokers is consistently hysterical and the blokes in it are such great sports and all-round funny guys.

Essentially, it's four pals that dare each other to do practical jokes in public and whoever doesn't do what the others say, they had to do an even worse forfeit!

Take a Lookie and lemmie know what you think.

Don't forget to enter my Tattoo Competition
