May The Wors Be With You
Hey Precious Plonkers. Today's letter is B and there are a couple of things that are typically South African that begin with the letter B.Firstly, Braai [pronounced br-eye] - This is the popular South African version of the backyard barbecue where meats such as steak, chicken and boerewors (pronounced boo-ruh-vorss) are cooked.
Secondly, Boerewors is a traditional spicy South African sausage made of beef or lamb and is also referred to as wors (vorss). Nothin' like a good boerie roll. Chances are that you will also be introduced to pap en sous (pronounced pup en sohss) at a braai. Pap is boiled corn meal, and sous is the sauce it is covered with, usually featuring tomato and onions. Tasteeeeeee
Lastly, Biltong [pronounced bill-tong] This South African favourite is dried and salted meat, similar to beef jerky, although it can be made from ostrich, kudu, beef or any other red meat. It is synonymous with rugby, another South African favourite.
Usage: Ons gaan nou braai, hoor? (Translation : Braai the beloved country).

Ultimate Braai Master and The Road Less Travelled
Some of you may know that I'm a huge Ultimate Braai Master fan.
Firstly, let me explain to my foreign Plonkers what exactly that is.
The Ultimate Braai Master is South Africa's first original reality-based television series, hosted by Bush-Cook Guru, Justin Bonello. 60 Days, 8000 km of traveling through South African to beautiful locations, cooking everything on the braai. Each week The Teams face challenges replicating or inventing their own dishes on the coals. The best teams win awesome rewards and the losing teams face elimination challenges.
It's on-the-edge-of-yer-seat stuff and a show that is well-produced and extremely entertaining.
Now, here this....
I didn't watch the first season. I'm not going to make trivial excuses for that, because I actually didn't know about it. Anyhoo, since I knew it was going to be replacing Strictly Come Dancing in September/October, I figured I'd give it a twizzle.
It was actually hubby that raved about it and wanted to tune in every Wednesday, but most of the time he fell asleep and left me glued to SABC3, while he sawed logs and snored like a bear.
Every Wednesday night, I make sure I have a cold beverage, tasty nibbles and maintain full battery life on my phone. I constantly Tweet during the show and engage with other #UBM fans. It's like a wee UBM Twitter Clan, where we chirp and tweet during the entire episode.
During the second or third episode, UBM Tweeted that they were giving away Justin Bonello's latest cook book from UBM Season Two namely Road Less Travelled. I was after that piece of literature and I managed to win a copy!
Booyah!
It arrived on Friday - autographed - and I couldn't be more stoked. If you don't know what to get your hubby for Christmas, it's the perfect gift. (Especially if you want to spend less time in the kitchen and turn him into a BraaiMaster).
Go and get yerself a copy and he'll be making BraaiPaais in no time.

We celebrated and a great day together.
Kaylin and CJ got to play "house" all day, Dylan DJed for us for the day, Megan karaoked, Ryan got to play his favourite alien computer game, Janie and I got to have a good natter and Riaan and Mick got to braai and drink beer.

I was so long in labour they had to shave me twice
Yesterday was a public holiday here in South Africa. Its was Human Rights Day so I invited my big sister and her clan over for a good old fashioned Souf Efrikén braai.
Unfortunately, the heavens opened up on us and it pissed with rain most of the frikken day but that didn't stop us from firing up the braai and enjoying some XBOX Kinect.
I also get a brilliant surprise in the post! I got a parcel from fellow blogger Mr Cool aka Tom Tomoser with a lovely letter and his latest Greatest Hits CD just for me! Thanx so much Tom - what a loverly surprise.

17lbs Loss. Mind you, that's like throwing a deckchair off the fucking Queen Mary
Yesterday we went to friends to hang out for a burger braai and drink wine because I had the worst week at work - EVER! I figured if I was gonna drink wine, I better limit my food calorie intake otherwise the scales are going to be up.
We were in the pool, glass of wine in hand, best stress relief in the world! The girls got to shoot some paintballs

Bush Braai with Colleagues on Thaba Trails
On Friday we left work early to enjoy a Bush Braai (aka Barbeque for you Yanks). We were literally drove to the middle of nowhere and set up "camp" in an old Thaba Trails' kraal in the old hills of Alberton. A great afternoon of chillaxin...

12 Things Men think Women know
Doing a survey to check my observations, here are the following twelve things men think women know:
1. Saturdays are made for sport, but not necessarily taking part in it. Being a supporter in front of the TV for four consecutive rugby matches is totally normal. Salty snacks are mandatory.
2. Any joke about ‘farting’ is fucking hysterically funny.
3. Leaving suspicious ‘skid marks’ in their underwear is part of life and if they could they would get their partner to rate their "break marks" outta ten.
4. Pissing outside on the grass is much better than doing it the conventional way in a toilet. And its especially entertaining when you can write your name in the snow or dirt.
5. When they are totally relaxed in front of the TV the best place for their dominant hand is right on the Crown Jewels (aka Al Bundy style).
6. In addition, if it itches it will scratched.
7. Undies are totally uncomfortable and will only be worn when strictly necessary, like going to work.
8. When inside the shower, the rock star inside every man awakens. Whether it is Pavarotti or Kurt Darren, you’re in for a show unless you’re lucky enough to have a sound-proof door which can be closed.
9. They are all closet ‘Grey's Anatomy’ fans but will never admit to it. They think McSteamy is just as hot as they are.
10. They can ‘rev’ anything from a car to the electric toothbrush, the mixer, shaver or lawnmower. Everything should be fitted with a turbo or super charger. They'd probably make "Vroom Vroom" sounds when we're getting busy if they could get away with it.
11. Their whole diet can be prepared on an outside braai.
12. Men grouped together measure their seniority by the length of their dicks. Not sure yet how they know it, but I suppose it’s their special male sixth sense.
Blokes....am I right or am I right?
Girls...can I hear a Whoooohooo?

Weekend Fun
A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next door neighbor. Before she says a word, Bob says, “I’ll give you R800 to drop that towel.” After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob.
After a few seconds, Bob hands her R800 dollars and leaves. The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs. When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks,…
“Who was that?”
“It was Bob the next door neighbor,” she replies.
“Great!” the husband says, “Did he say anything about the R800 he owes me?”
Moral of the story:
If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.
This weekend was all about celebrations. A little too much wine and enjoying with friends.
