Even with the holiday in the middle of the week, it still feels like this week was the longest in creation.  I guess being uber busy at work didn't help.  

All work and no play makes A Daft Scots Lass a very dull lass.

Welcome to Friday Follower, Alma!

I have possibly the most unimaginative name for my blog but when I started it,  I did not know which direction it would take; work or pleasure.

Bugger work.  I do so much research and read so many wonderfully clever blogs by seriously clever people that I am sure no-one would read my 2 cents on the vast subject of social media.  So fun and frivolity, venting and vocalising nonsense became the blog’s persona.

I am also a red-head but my colouring is called Strawberry Blonde.  Blerrie pretentious, né?  I live in Durban and work from home assisting companies and individuals with their setup, strategy and training on social networks. I am so fortunate to love what I do. 

I have a teenage daughter who I love to bits but refer to as The Alien.  You can read why here and let me know if you agree with me and if you can enlighten me as to whether male teenagers have similar characteristics. 

My husband of 15 years is called Chicken Man. No, he is not scared of me (I wish!) but he works in the chicken industry and talks chicken in his sleep.  The Ama Glug-Glug wine club is my substitute for drugs and therapy.

Whilst my 4 pets watch my every move, I find plenty of topics to blog about even if I don’t leave the house. Sure, a lot of my posts are absolute rubbish but I always feel a sense of relief or pleasure after pressing “publish post” My most popular post was just a vent I had during a particularly bad day. Obviously people like to feel that they are not alone in having those shitty days when nothing seems to go right.

Thank you A Daft Scots Lass for your humorous blog which I visit whenever work gets hectic and I need some light relief.  Your prolific posting inspires me to post more frequently.....actually, let’s be honest - your prolific posting puts me to shame and is the firm kick up the arse I need to blog more often.

• Fuck you to the Pneumonia replaps that whacked me this week.  Thats two weeks at home!  That's the longest time I've ever been at home for an illness (even the times I was in hospital for shit).  In conclusion, I HATE being ill, I hate feeling crap and I'm glad I'm on the mend.  Back to work on Monday and I'm actually glad!  Oh I know I'm such a fucking loser.

• Fuck you to the truck loads of snot that I have mopped up over the past two weeks.  I have gone through 354.7 tissues and my nose is red and cracked and my lips look like urban street maps - totally smoochless!

Today I'm taking my hubby away for the night.  We're going to Magaliesburg to stay at a pretty lodge for the night and the girls are going to sleep over at my sister's house.  I have a great surprise adventure planned for Saturday morning and I'll post about it when I get back because its still a secret.

• Fuck you to The Beatles who wrote Let it Be.  That song makes me cry EVERY fucking time!
• Fuck you to the disgusting Stevia pills that I'm using in my tea instead of brown sugar.  It DOESN'T taste the same, assbags.  Its blah!  But I have lost 3kg since I started using it.
• Fuck You to Natalie Portman who looked absa lootly stunning in Black Swan, which I watched over the weekend. I was gob-smacked by her beauty, elegance and acting.  Yeah, the first half was a bit slow but the second half was whacky and creepy (just the way I like it).  How can a woman who lost all her fucking body fat for this film, be so breath-taking?  Normally, I hate waifs (perhaps I'm secretly jealous - of course I am).  Ballerinas always have a magical place in my heart.  They just take my breath away. 
• A huge Fuck You to the woman from ABSA Customer Services in Durban, who just phoned to crap on me because some random guy came in to her branch telling her that he has my old phone number.  He says keeps getting text messages from the bank.  Hey! I changed my details with the bank, Bitch - who then is sending him text messages?  Me or You?  Sort it out, asswipe.  She didn't bank on getting a foul-mouthed Scots Lass on the other end of the phone who gave her "what for".
