Orange is the New Black

My post is two-fold

Firstly, I'm soopa bummed that South Africa doesn't celebrate this holiday in a big way, actually in any way.

South Africa have a piddly diluted version with half-arsed celebrations. Probably because they are adverse to the meaning behind Halloween.  The calling of spirits and negative energies and all that.

If you don't get invited to a private Halloween party, or have one of your own, pretty much fuck all happens. No scary decorations, no trick or treating, no carved pumpkins, no apple bobbing, no treacle scones...its fucking depressing...

Oh you Pretty Plonkers know how I LOVE to dress up and I adore wearing all types of creative costumes, so this is almost the PERFECT holiday for someone like me. However, I still have to sit back and let the rest of the world enjoy the festivities. Hook a sista up why don't you?

What are all the Halloween Parties at?

Secondly, Orange is the New Black is one of my top shows.  It has a bit of everything.  Drama, Excitement, Romance, Comedy, Crime...what more could a girl want?  The story of Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), a woman in her thirties who is sentenced to 15 months in prison after she is convicted of a decade old crime of transporting money for her drug dealing girlfriend (Laura Prepon).

Fancy something new and fresh to watch?  Give it a go.  Just remember its not really family friendly, so make sure its watched after the kids are put to bed.

I'm with you about the Halloween party thing, I can say that here since I don't have to censor myself that this years Halloween was ruined by boring ARSEHOLES who I'm friends with who either didn't want to go out for Halloween, who didn't want to dress up and who didn't have a clue what they wanted to be so were nobody. It ended up with just myself and Jamie in my friends circle who wanted to dress up. And even that fell by the waste side when Jamie flaked out because everybody else did, Halloween is going to be lame this year! :(

Throw your own Halloween party then!

Hope you're throwing one or going to one. And yes, we're spoiled for Halloween festivities here in the US.

Love Orange is the New Black and also loving House of Cards (another Netflix series).

I decided to start watching it on my laptop while I was on a flight back from work in JHB. I was sandwiched in between 2 men and didn't know what to expect from the series. Imagine my surprise when it starts off with a steamy lesbian scene. I couldn't switch it off fast enough and the 2 men who were sitting on either side thinking I was watching lesbo porn. Beautiful.
It's so sad that SA doesn't celebrate Halloween. I grew up in an area with loads of Americans so I used to Trick n Treat every year. It's sad that the kids these days don't/can't do it!

I am totally hooked on Orange is the New Black! Great show. Not as good as Breaking Bad, but it sure fills the void!
