So, this year we’ve organised something a little different for Christmas Day.
Every year, we have our traditional Christmas turkey dinner with all the trimmings at home. We slog ourselves stukken in the kitchen; chopping, cutting, stuffing, preparing and baking piles of food. We inevitably burn our fingers on the oven or a pot, we eat for about 20 minutes and then we spend the next part of the day cleaning up and doing never ending piles of dirty dishes....and land up being fucking exhausted for the rest of the day and having left-overs for weeks.
Not this year, Plonkers.
After the usual opening truck loads of presents at home on Christmas morning, we are going OUT for Christmas Dinner.
Hell yeah.

An awesome Christmas spread in beautiful African surroundings. Quiet, tranquil, peaceful with a full stocked, and dare-I-say-it, impressive Wine Cellar. No Christmas dinner is complete without a good bottle of wino collapso.
Hell, I could even fit it an afternoon safari game drive if I wanted to.
How fekkin brilliant is that?
No clean up

No anticlimax blues
No promising to never do it again
I may even book a room and spend the night.

Those big meal events do seem kind of silly when you can just go to a restaurant or something. We usually have a big ol' meal for Thanksgiving, but not for Christmas. Come to think of it we're usually not home at Christmas. I guess somebody else does the cooking. Never thought of it.

The best thing at Christmas is to be out of town! Wish I could swing it but my bosses at Dungeons & Dragons won't let me take time off then.
Sheer genius! Let someone else do the cooking. Now everyone can just enjoy the day.
We've been doing this for the past two years. This time we' be on a cruise for Thanksgiving and 1ooking forward to that very much!
That was funny for about the first 30 seconds. He should have quit while he was ahead.
We've done this a few times over the last few years, it is a good idea and so much less work. Only one problem, no leftover turkey which I love.
This sounds awesome Lass, I'm with you on Christmas dinner being a lot of stress at times so it's cool that you don't have to deal with it this year, plus by the sounds of it you can trust the food to be great!
