M is for Manky

"Manky"

Pronounciation : mang-key

Definition : Unclean person or unclean act, disgusting.

Pure mankiness is commonly observed in the hallways of a middle school, where broods of little people slide their sweaty digits across various bacteria-infested surfaces such as the gym-change room lockers, toilet bowls and door knobs.

Usage: Ye need te clean yer shitty toilet - it's manky mess!

TranslationThey once made a "Chuck Norris" brand toilet paper, but it wouldn't take shit from anybody.

The Mull of Kintyre is the south western most tip of the Kintyre Peninsula in southwest Scotland. From here, the Antrim coast is visible and a historic lighthouse, the second commissioned in Scotland, guides shipping in the intervening North Channel.  So gorgeous even Paul McCartney sung about it.

Glad you didn't mention a 'Manky Hanky', quite inappropriate for this post.

And I'm glad you got your facts right and didn't say that the Mull of Kintyre was Scotlands most southerly point. That is our very own 'Mull of Galloway'

Beautiful spot!
So would monkeys flinging poo be considered mankiness? Or is that monkeyness?

Oh, I am loving my new word. Very cool, but did you have to use the middle school example? Yikes, I have kids is that manky middle school. I can't believe I wasn't already following your blog. I am now. I also loved the song. That was another surprise. I'd never heard it and I am a huge McCartney and Beetles fan.

I love the word "manky," use it quite often but sadly I've had it used on myself which is a nuisance, great post though.

Manky Panky could certainly occur with a Manky Hanky. A Manky Hanky is also known as a Badly Packed Kebab (That's the more modern version)
Some of the squaddies I served in the army with were none too particular

The Mull of Kintyre is beautiful. And the lighthouse still functions? Very impressive.

I can think of no better word for a middle school hallway. It fairly reeks of equal parts of strawberry perfume, AXE Body Spray (Eau de Middle School Boy), and Body Odor.
Manky, indeed.
